Educated through the Darfield Schools, Shroggs Head Infants, Church School, and Foulstone High. Playing in school band and singing in Choir(not sure you would want me to sing now).

In School sports teams, netball, hockey, used to be regular score keeper for Basketball team. Was always a very active member of the Church Girls Brigade, from age 7 to 21,played Bugle and trumpet in Lads brigade Band, and regularly attended Sunday school and church

After leaving school I qualified as a nurse in 1983 at Barnsley District General Hospital, I have worked at several hospitals within South Yorkshire, some of this work has included further training to develop my nursing, I have also been fortunate to work in the Middle East during in my nursing career which I feel has contributed greatly to my understanding of other peoples religions, cultures and customs whilst working with in a multinational work force.

On returning to the Uk, I have retrained to become a Podiatrist/Chiropodist gaining my BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine, from Leeds Metropolitan University, this also carries with it a local anaesthetics certificate. I am also Health Professions Council registered and continually update my knowledge and skills to offer the best of practice.

I hold an ITEC certificate in Sports Therapy Massage, this is a very popular treatment within the practice.

I am also a qualified Reflexologist and Rieki Master Teacher and enjoy administering these complimentary therapies.

My personal interests are , local politics, watching Rugby Union ,for what I must admit have somewhat of a passion, also I have coached at junior level too, I also, enjoy horse riding, walking and reading.
